SMED - Single Minute Exchange of Dies - normally known, is meant for reducing the Die setup time in high Pressure Die casting dies and Low- pressure dies in the foundry. The same concept can be extended even for CNC-Milling. This will lead to reduced inventory, Identification of redundancy, FIFO - First In First Out, Faster delivery and Improving the shop floor 5S.
